Rocket is a fantastic simple song in unison. Great for children from Key Stage 1 and upwards, it is particularly good song for boys as it really encourages boys to sing. Maybe that’s because the subject is a rocket flying into outer space (which young boy doesn’t want to sing about that).Rousing and repetitive – it has a driving rhythm throughout – another reason why it’s a good song for boys (of course, girls like it too). Also great when you’re doing a project with a transport theme in school (can be combined with Little Train and Drive. The music is simple and easy for even your less able children to pick up. The words are designed to be learnable, whilst also stretching the children and helping them to concentrate. ‘Fire the jets, no regrets!’ – get this one into your school repertoire and you’ll have to sing it year after year.Download contains; Sheet Music PDF, Vocal Lines PDF, Lyrics PDF, Teaching Notes, Performace MP3 & Instrumental MP3.How does The Song Library work? 1. If you are a primary teacher without a music background, don’t worry. All song library music comes with simple teaching notes, backing tracks (so no need for a pianist) and performance tracks (for you to understand how the song should sound). The word sheets can be printed out and given to the children – however, we try to include powerpoint words wherever you can as this can help children to look up as they are singing. For more tips on teaching children to sing, please visit our blog article on ‘Teaching singing in junior school’ – a good starting guide to teaching singing for teachers that don’t!
