The Road to Home

A wonderful, lilting folk-style ballad about the pain of being apart from the one you love. Written from the point of view of the person that is left behind “I find the waiting so hard to bear, Watching the road till I see you there”. Starting in one part, then splits into four. There is some playful passing back and forth of the melody in parts.

I sang this on an hf singing holiday, it was really good to sing and a happy contrast to the other stuff we were singing. we also sang Nowell for the Merrie City which was fun too.
