A fast paced, rythmic song about swimming in the Olympics. Wonderfully descriptive, it takes us through the feelings, thoughts and stages of a swimming race. A great musical way to understand the intensity of this sport.

A great song about the preparation, contemplation and exhilaration of a swimming race

A fast paced, swimming song. Wonderfully descriptive, it takes us through the feelings, thoughts and stages of a swimming race. A great musical way to understand the intensity of this sport.

All in unison, it gives you the opportunity to concentrate on the words, diction and timing.

This song is written for Key Stages 2 and 3 with these purposes in mind.

  1. It should be enjoyable enough for the children to want to sing it.
  2. Improving words and diction (great for literacy throughout the curriculum).

Optional narration prior to the song:

Traditionally, the games open with swimming, and that’s exactly what our singers are going to do now! Have you noticed how swimmers concentrate before a race? No matter what the distance, they have the same routine. They wave to the crowd when their names are called…. they shake their arms to loosen their limbs…. they climb onto the box for the start of the race…. then they hit the water and go!
