With a gentle, blues tempo this is a fun school exam song that brings a little light relief around the times of exams and tests – especially good around Key Stage 2 SATS. This is a song all about the difficullty of exams, with a bit of a twist at the end – the headteacher is the one that is finding them hard!

School song for exam times

With a gentle, blues tempo this is a fun school song for exam times. It brings a little light relief around the times of exams and tests – especially good around Key Stage 2 SATS. This is a song all about the difficullty of exams, with a bit of a twist at the end – the headteacher is the one that is finding them hard!Teach literacy in the curriculum without the children even realising (also a great way to teach diction).Split your singers into 3 groups, but start by teaching the piece the whole way through.

When you start this school exam song, don’t attempt to tackle the 2nd and 3rd parts straight away.

Once the children are confident with the tune, teach them the second and third vocal lines. Again, once you feel confident, split the children into thee groups (ideally with an adult leading each group) and sing the parts together.

This song is written for Key Stages 2 and 3 with these purposes in mind

  • It allows the children to understand part singing by introducing each part as a different tune.
  • It teaches rhythm in a fun way
